LIAT 2020 has been rebranded and is planning to improve its regional connections by initiating flights to 11 new locations, which will include Guyana, starting in September 2024.
This substantial expansion is intended to offer better travel options throughout the Caribbean, catering to both business and leisure travelers.
Earlier this week, CEO Hafsaf Abdulsalam announced that in addition to the existing Antigua route, the airline will begin flights to five more islands, namely St. Lucia, Barbados, Grenada, Dominica, and St. Kitts and Nevis.
Abdulsalam explained, “We will expand further into larger Caribbean territories in the south, adding 11 new destinations in September.” The planned expansion will encompass Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago, with the airline also intending to increase its fleet.
“Our goal for the first year is to introduce our new generation E2 195 narrow-body aircraft, which will seat 128 passengers. This will enable us to operate flights to Panama and, should ECCA achieve Cat 1 status, to Miami, Puerto Rico, and the British Virgin Islands,” Abdulsalam stated.
The CEO also stressed that while ticket prices will remain competitive and affordable, the airline’s focus is on achieving sustainability and profitability. The company is actively seeking exemptions from other governments to benefit travelers.
LIAT 2020, in its new form, completed its first flight to St. Lucia in August, marking the return of the inter-regional airline to the skies.
Happy to hear of the LIAT rebrand, but I’m suspicious about it’s business planning, and commercialization leading towards systainable profitability.

It would be nice if they included the US Virgin islands
I like the competition that this will bring throughout the region, which willl lead to a drop in prices which will be beneficial to the consumers. So I tip my hat to you Mr. Browne
