Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a meeting recently with the leaders of five Caribbean Island states during the U.N. General Assembly in New York City.

The meeting was attended by Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, Gaston Browne, Dominican Republic President, Luis Abinader, , Haitian Prime Minister, Ariel Henry, St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister, Terrance Drew, and Barbados Foreign Minister, Kerrie Symmonds

During the meeting, the leaders discussed the public health and water-management challenges faced by their respective nations.

Netanyahu offered Israeli experts to visit the Caribbean and provide assistance in tackling these challenges.

In addition, the Israeli embassy in Panama is planning to offer a course later this year titled “Intensive Vegetable Production in Arid and Semi-Arid Conditions”.

Furthermore, in March, the Israeli and Dominican Republic baseball teams signed a Memorandum of Understanding at the World Baseball Classic held in Miami.

Moreover, in January, Latin American legislators signed a resolution to adopt the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s (IHRA) working definition of antisemitism.
