Four killed in Jamaica crash

Four Jamaicans, two men, and two women died this morning, following a vehicle accident on the Palisadoes main road.

Police superintendent Tommilee Chambers made the disclosure to Jamaican media today.

Two other persons have been transported to the hospital, according to lawmen.

The road links the community of Port Royal and the Norman Manley International Airport with the capital city.

She says a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado SUV and a Toyota Probox motor car were involved in the incident.

In 2021, 483 road fatalities were recorded, of which 69% came from the most vulnerable groups of road users: pedestrians, motorcyclists and children.

Of the road fatalities in 2021, 25 were children (0-17 years)
