Fire officials say due to their quick response, only a room to the rare of the building housing the ABLP’s constituency office was destroyed.
Public Relations Officer of the Fire Department Inspector Lester Bagot said at 4:30 a.m., the St Johns Fire Station received a telephone call from 9-11 stating that there was a fire at the ABLP’s St John City East branch office in Fort Road.
He said an immediate response was made by the fire crew and upon arrival at the scene, they met a 50 x 37 feet wooden building with fire and smoke emitting from a room at the rear of the building.
“Water was used to control and extinguish the fire and due to the quick response by the fire brigade, fire damage to the building was mainly confined to the room at the rear of the building”, he said
The building is uninsured and the origin of the fire is still under investigation.
Really! May God help us in this land
