Three new additions as the ABLP appoints eleven senators

The Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party has appointed eleven senators. The swearing-in ceremony took place earlier.

Philip Shoul, Knacyntar Nedd-Charles, Shenella Govia, Mary Clare Hurst, Osbert Frederick, Alinica Williams-Grant, Caleb Gardiner, and Colin Browne will be returning as government senators.

Meanwhile, Rawdon Turner, Clement Antonio and Samantha Marshall are the new additions to the Senate replacing Aziza Lake, Gail Christian and Maureen Payne-Hyman.

Marshall who was defeated by the UPP’s Kelvin Shuggy Simon in the January 18th elections has been appointed Minister of State within the Ministry of Health, Wellness, Social Transformation and the Environment with responsibility for Social Transformation.

Govia was also appointed Parliamentary Secretary; Ministry of Education, Creative Industries and Sports while was appointed Antonio Parliamentary Secretary; Ministry of Housing, Public Works, Lands and Urban Renewal.

Knacyntar Nedd-Charles will now serve as Parliamentary Secretary; Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Agriculture, Trade, Immigration and Barbuda Affairs.
