The Dutch Caribbean country of Aruba has been touched by royals, as King Willem-Alexander, Queen Máxima and Catharina-Amalia, Princess of Orange have arrived there for the second leg of their tour

A welcome ceremony will be held at Wilhelmina Square for the royals before they are whisked away for meetings with Governor Alfsonso Boekhoudt and political party leaders. Reports are that the Royal Family will have a packed two days of activity while on the second most populous Dutch territory.

“The royals will engage with members of the public and see performances by a local learning orchestra and youth choir before having lunch with Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes and her cabinet. In the afternoon, the party will continue to the artistic town of San Nicolas,” Loop News reported

They will also visit the Filomena College Secondary School where they were being treated to a performance about Aruban-Dutch resistance hero Boy Ecury.

“Day One in Aruba will close off with a brief visit to the Museum of Industry and the royals will watch street performances. On Tuesday, the King and Queen and the Princess of Orange will visit Arikok National Park. They will hike in the park, meet the makers of a nature documentary and discuss nature conservation and management with junior rangers at the Centre of Cultivation,” according to reports.

The royal party will then continue on to Royal Aruba Aloe, a company founded in 1890, where they will speak with staff and see how the company cultivates aloe vera and uses it in making skincare products.
