A pay increase for public servants in St Vincent and the Grenadines is on the cards according to the government there. The decision was approved recently.

According to information, workers will receive a 2.5 percent pay increase for the period January 1 to December 31, 2023, a two percent increase in 2024, and another 2.5 percent increase from January 2025.

These increases, according to the government will cost an extra EC$26 million.

Finance Minister Camillo Gonsalves says the salary increase represents a “5.7 per cent growth in Budget 2023 for wages and salaries” and “it is an extraordinary increase in light of the global challenges and fragility of our ongoing economic recovery”.
