A 28-year-old has been killed in St Vincent and the Grenadines, bringing to five, the homicide numbers for the year.

The woman’s name is Altavea Billingy, 28, and she was a caretaker from Chester Cottage. 

According to the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force, Billingy succumbed to a stab wound to her abdomen.  The incident occurred at about 9:45 pm on February 4 at Grenville Street, Kingstown. 

Police say a 35-year-old man of Cedars is currently in custody assisting the police with the investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
