Jamaican man on murder charge gunned down at home; house set ablaze

Adrian Smith, a man who was reporting to the Westmoreland police on condition of bail in relation to the 2020 murder of a man in St James, was gunned down at his home, which was set ablaze.

Loop news reported that the incident occurred early on Sunday morning.

The online newspaper reported that about 12:15 am, residents heard gunshots in the community and summoned the police.

Upon their arrival, the police saw à house engulfed in flames.

The fire brigade was called and the blaze was subsequently extinguished, but not before the building was destroyed.

Smith’s charred remains were found among the rubble with a bullet wound to the head.

No motive has yet been established for the killing.
