Two more cases of Monkeypox have been confirmed in Jamaica, bringing the total cases to 21

The new case according to health officials there was locally transmitted and it was recorded from Kingston and St Andrew.

According to reports from Jamaica, the patients are in isolation at the hospital and are both said to be in stable condition, while health authorities embark on contact tracing

Monkeypox is highly contagious and deadly. It can be spread when a person comes into close contact with an infected individual, including “sexual contact, contact with contaminated personal items such as clothing, bed linen or towels used by an infected person, and respiratory droplets by way of coughing or sneezing of an individual with the virus’ rash”

Fever, intense headache, swelling of the lymph nodes, back pain, muscle ache, and/or rash on the skin are the usual symptoms
