Just days after being remanded for allegedly possessing a flare gun and a bullet, Trevor Powell was sent to prison for 9 months for larceny.
The 27-year-old who has an existing criminal record, was sentenced this morning after he admitted to stealing a phone, a number of IDs, cash, and a bank card from a woman on January 18.
The items are said to be worth $854.
The victim was carrying her black working bag on the way to her workplace when she felt someone push her from behind.
She fell to the ground and her bag was nabbed. When she looked around for the thief no one was in sight.
Earlier this month, the police received information about a man in the vicinity of Botanical Gardens with a gun.
When they responded to the report, they found the defendant.
The police then executed a search warrant at his home and found a quantity of ID’s and a bank card belonging to the complainant.
Powell was then arrested and charged.
