Fans and friends of Soca Diva Claudette ‘CP’ Peters rejoiced this afternoon as news broke that the artiste will be defending her crown in the groovy section of the upcoming Soca Monarch competition.

Last year, Peters won her 10th crown in the INET Party Monarch finals but shocked fans when she announced that it would be her final time competing.

Peters won the segment with her song ‘Stressless.’ In her performance, she reminded the audience of how rich Antigua and Barbuda’s culture really is.

Following behind her was first runner-up Tian Winter who brought his A game with his song “Baddest”, while Menace XL put on a show-stopping, patriotic performance with his song ‘Brave’ to cop the second runner-up spot.

Months after hanging up her hat, she released a song called ‘Nat U’ which has been dominating airwaves ever since.

The song’s lyric video, released five months ago, now has over 160,000 views.

The hit song, which has an exciting message, caused fans and friends to encourage the artist to reconsider her decision and defend her title.

Just this afternoon, the day of the semi-final competition, it was announced that Peters will be giving other artists a run for their money on August 6.
