The son of Dominica’s Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit has been implicated in an accident that caused the death of Kyan Brent Joseph on Sunday.

According to reports from Roseau, at about 12:30 pm, Joseph was riding his motorcycle west from the South City Grandbay while Malik Skerrit was driving a Mitsubishi Outlander in the opposite direction.

Young Skerrit received no significant injuries from the incident.

During a press conference today, Prime Skerrit expressed condolences to the deceased’s family.

He continued, “I want to extend my sincerest condolences as I have done privately to the family of Mr. Kyan Joseph. I cannot say much on this matter, but I want to express publicly my heartfelt condolences and solidarity to his family.”

  1. Young Skerrit will not see the court or jail time. This will settle out of court.
My condolences to the young man who lost his life. Pray for healing and speedy recovery for the other injured person.
