Escaped Prisoner on the Run

A man with mental issues has escaped from His Majesty’s Prison. He has been identified as Josh Joyce of Villa. He was serving jail time for a petty crime, according to reports.

Residents are asked to contact the nearest police station if they come in contact with Joyce.

Authorities say he should be approached with caution as he may be dangerous

He escaped a little after 9 pm last night through a compromise opening in his holding cell.

If he has mental issues, why is he in prison? Shouldn’t he be in the mental instItution? Is this article telling me that the prison had more persons with mental issues being carcerated there??

The police says that he has mental illness which I believe they got it such information from his prison record.

Obviously this young man needs help. Prison is not a mental institution, there’s no help there.

Does having mental issues make it ok to commit crimes? Though I agree that he needs help I also am a firm believer that if you do the crime you must do the time. He should be getting his treatments while he’s at the prison until his sentence is up and then continue getting the help he needs but another of them refuse to take the meds and be going on like they’re crazy in order to get away with alot of stupidness.

If a person is not in their right state of mind, what do you honestly expect of them

Josh has mental issues, it’s not a secret. He should not be housed at the Prison but we as a country do not stand up for anything unless it affects us directly…. the prison also have young men that are under 16 years old… we care more about retribution than we do about reform and rehabilitation
