Foreign Affairs Minister travels to Cuba for G-77 meeting

​The Foreign Affairs Minister of Antigua, E.P Chet Greene, is traveling to Cuba today to attend a meeting of the G-77 countries.

The conference will be held in Havana starting from Friday, with the theme “On Current Development Challenges: The Role of Science, Technology and Innovation”.

The G-77 is a group of developing countries that was formed on 15th June 1964, comprising of seventy-seven signatories of the “Joint Declaration of the Seventy-Seven Developing Countries”.

This declaration was issued at the end of the first session of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) in Geneva.

During the conference, Greene will represent Antigua and bring greetings on their behalf. He is expected to touch on various topics of interest to Antigua and Barbuda in his remarks on Friday.
