VIRGIN RETURNS FOR ANTIGUA SAILING WEEK

14 September 2023 - 06:33

The organizers of Antigua Sailing Week have recently announced that they have renewed their partnership with Virgin Atlantic. The airline will remain as the official transatlantic airline for the event in 2024.

The partnership has been extended for six years, and Virgin Atlantic currently offers a weekly flight to and from Antigua from London’s Heathrow Airport.

Starting in April 2024, the airline will increase the number of flights to three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

This schedule is perfect for sailors who want to prepare on the island before the race starts.

Spectators with flexible travel schedules can also arrive just in time for Reggae in The Park, the Tuesday night entertainment highlight of the week-long celebration.

Hannah Swift, the Caribbean Commercial Manager at Virgin Atlantic, said, “We are thrilled to partner with Antigua Sailing Week again and offer special rates for the crew, family, and friends of the week.

It is a pleasure for us to support an event showcasing the beauty of Antigua and Barbuda to many people.”

As part of this partnership, Antigua Sailing Week participants, families, and spectators can benefit from special fares from the United Kingdom to the event.

“Through this relationship, ASW will ensure that the international officials essential to the event arrive on time, ready to officiate. With entries for the 2024 regatta now open, it is a good time for participants to start confirming any required travel and securing seats with Virgin Atlantic at the best rates,” remarked ASW President Alison Sly-Adams.
