Police have launched the latest homicide probe, after a 34 year old Golden Grove resident died in hospital on Sunday, just over week after he was reportedly beaten by a group of men.

It is reported the man went to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre on September 9 to seek treatment, telling doctors about being beaten by his attackers. He reportedly lost consciousness shortly afterward and was placed in the Intensive Care Unit. He never regained consciousness and died mid-morning Sunday.

It is not immediately clear how many men had attacked him and whether any were from the Golden Grove community. He is now the country’s seventh homicide victim since the start of the year.
