PM Browne has told the United States that its policy against Cuba is cruel and wicked and ought to be addressed with urgency
He was speaking about the US embargo on Cuba which according to Browne continues to destabilize the country
During his remarks at the just concluded 78 Session of the United States General Assembly in New York, Browne said the US must revisit its stance on Cuba.
“It is high time for the U.S. to remove Cuba from its list of state sponsors of terrorism. You know it’s not true…and to bring an end to the outdated embargo that harms the Cuban populace. Your policy against Cuba is cruel and wicked”, Browne said
Similarly, he said Antigua and Barbuda and other Caribbean countries continue to advocate for removing sanctions on Venezuela, especially those that hinder the Venezuelan government’s access to the U.S. financial system and block oil imports from the state-owned PDVSA.
“It cannot be ignored that these sanctions amplify the humanitarian crisis in Venezuela, contributing to the very large number of refugees into neighboring countries. The sanctions also harm innocent Caribbean countries that hitherto benefitted from the Petro Caribe initiative, which served as an energy price stabilization mechanism for these countries,” Browne said
“As members of this United Nations Organization, we are all bound by its Charter that enshrines dialogue and peaceful conflict resolution,” he said
He urges every nation to recommit to these cornerstone principles, ensuring they are respected, and followed as the bedrock of all international relations.
So, this man not only wants to govern Antigua, he wants to run the United States too?🤷🙄
A mental sickness we have as a leader over Antigua and affairs.
PM Gaston, anyone more wicked than you? You need to check yourself before calling the government of America wicked. Gaston, do you know how many Antiguans and Barbudans have migrated out of Antigua to America and Canada in the nine years you’ve been their Prime Minister just because of your wicked leadership?? Your people are going to these countries for a better life that you cannot give your people. You’re selling off their prime lands (beachfront lands) to your criminal friends, calling them investors, and destroying their agriculture (their only food security). The roads are deplorable, and the people don’t even have constant running water in their homes daily… the list goes on and on of your poor leadership.
On his stance against America’s treatment of Cuba and Venezuela being cruel, wicked and unjust, I support the Prime Minister.
As a member of the United Nations, it is his responsibility to voice his opinion on such, or he would be a hypocrite.
The average U. S. Citizen does not have a clue as to what the U. S. Foreign policy is, and why. However, Right is right, and Wrong is wrong.
