The government of Antigua and Barbuda has condemned the terrorist assault on Israel

Early on Saturday morning, while most Israelis were likely sleeping, sirens were heard as rockets were launched and flew over Israel, reaching as far as the Tel Aviv area.

In addition to rockets, militants from Gaza used various methods such as land, sea and air invasions, even using paragliders to infiltrate Israel. While Hamas claims that as many as 5,000 rockets were fired at Israel, the actual number of rockets fired is estimated to be around 2,200.

To put that into perspective, during the 50-day war between the two sides in 2014, around 4,000 rockets were fired from Gaza into Israel.

In a statement issued to the press moments ago, the government also condemn terrorism everywhere.

“No issue is solved by aggression and conflict whose consequences are far reaching and long lasting as the escalation of the situation now shows.  We express our sorrow for the civilians who have been killed and extend our deepest sympathy to their families,” the statement read
