Antiguans will be participating in the “Walk for the Cure” event on October 14th, which is an annual fundraiser organized by CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank (FCIB) to fight against cancer.

Team RUBIS has sponsored the event as a gold sponsor and the sponsorship was presented to FCIB officials by Raphaelene Jackson, the Country Representative of RUBIS Antigua, on October 6th. Ms. Jackson expressed RUBIS’s pleasure in contributing to the ongoing fight against cancer.

“We are thrilled to support CIBC First Caribbean by sponsoring the ‘Walk for the Cure’ event, which is held every year in partnership with Breast Friends of Antigua and The Oncology Department of the Sir Lester Bird Mount St. John’s Medical Center.

All funds raised go to the Oncology Department to help them in their life-changing and life-saving work,” said Ms. Jackson.

This year’s Walk for the Cure event marks the twelfth consecutive year of the event, which is part of a regional drive to raise funds for cancer treatment. The walk is the main event of a series of similar fundraising events organized by FCIB including Hike for the Cure, Jam to the Cure, and Raffle for the Cure.

FCIB officials have set a target of raising $100,000 for the year 2023, after having raised $65,000 in 2022.
