According to the Servicio Nacional de Salud (SNS), Santo Domingo Province, which has the largest number of dengue fever cases, has reported a decrease in the number of infections.

Between Sunday and Monday, public hospitals in the province reported 82 admissions, while the total number of hospitalizations in the Metropolitan region is 332.

Across the country, public hospitals reported 157 new cases and 637 hospitalizations between Sunday and Monday.

As of Monday, the country has recorded 12,900 cases of dengue and 11 dengue-related deaths since the outbreak began.

The Minister of Public Health, Dr. Daniel Rivera, said that confirmed infections are expected to increase to 14,000 this week. President Luis Abinader said that a recent anti-dengue campaign impacted over 2 million people.

In particular, 338,928 homes were visited, and 40,109 mosquito breeding sites were eliminated.
