Brandon Murphy of Villa appeared in the St. John’s Magistrates’ Court this morning charged with larceny and receiving.
It is alleged that on September 23, Murphy stole $15,647.82 in items from a place on Bishop Gate Street.
The items include a number of gold jewellery, a Samsung Galaxy, a bank card and ID’S as well as cash belonging to another man.
He was arrested and charged on Independence Day and brought to court this morning where he was granted bail pending his committal hearing on January 30.
Reports reaching Antigua News also state that a few days ago the New Bethel SDA Academy in Liberta was a victim of theft.
It is said that the administration office was broken into sometime between 12 am and 6 am on October 30. The perpetrator reportedly made off with $300.
