Police, as well as the Emergency Medical Services and Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force Coast Guard are at Devil’s Bridge where a 37 year old Canadian woman drowned, and a frantic search is in progress for her 5 year old daughter.

The circumstances which led to them ending up in the water are still being investigated. First responders say the woman’s 38 year old husband, also from Canada, reported receiving cardio-pulmonary resuscitation or CPR when he got into difficulties while trying to rescue his wife and daughter.

The Coast Guard is leading the search efforts for the child.

The EMS reported getting the distress call at 6:55 Thursday morning and arrived on the scene in just over 10 minutes. ABS is continuing to track this developing story.
