Faith Gibson was recently selected as the Antigua Girls’ High School (AGHS) recipient of the Lady Sandra Williams Award for Humanitarianism, during the school’s anniversary service.
Her Excellency Lady Williams attended the AGHS for a few years in the ‘70’s, and has introduced the award as a platform to encourage selflessness among young people.
The award is given annually to students of both the Antigua Girls’ High School and Christ the King (alma maters of Her Excellency Lady Williams), who have been selected by the teachers / Head of School for outstanding humanitarian service.
Faith is described as a student who is genuinely helpful to both her peers and the staff. She is a strong advocate for the well-being of her fellow students and has on occasion taken up the mantle of discreetly alerting staff to situations where a student may be in need of assistance or intervention.
Last year, Tassiana Ricketts of the Antigua Girls’ High School was the recipient of this award.
