After court proceedings concluded today, 37-year-old Kevon Small was convicted of causing death by dangerous driving in a case dating back to September 2021.

The incident occurred at on the night of September 1, 2021, when Small’s vehicle collided with 50-year-old pedestrian Colin Anderson Joseph at the busy intersection of Market and New Streets.

Emergency responders rushed Joseph to Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, where medical staff documented severe trauma, including a fractured skull and significant injuries to his left leg.

Despite aggressive treatment efforts, diagnostic tests revealed complete absence of brain activity. Hospital personnel maintained Joseph on life support temporarily, but he did not recover from his injuries.

Prosecutors presented evidence including surveillance footage and witness testimony that convinced the jury Small had operated his vehicle in a manner that met the legal threshold for dangerous driving resulting in death.

  3. Either you were inattentive or driving with a speed cause that intersection is always busy. The fact that you were found guilty you must have been at fault

  4. Good. Now what about the Friars hill road accident that killed one AUA student and maimed another for life!
