Authorities in Antigua and Barbuda have launched an investigation into a breach at V.C Bird International Airport that allowed a woman and her son to board an American Airlines flight without a boarding pass.
The incident came to light when they arrived in the US and could not clear immigration due to their lack of a proper boarding pass. The woman then sought asylum from US immigration officials.
According to initial reports, the woman and her son were being deported to Tortolla via Antigua when they managed to evade the airline staff and board the American Airlines flight without a valid boarding pass.
The duo’s sneaky act has raised serious concerns about airline checks at the airport.
As a result of this serious breach, an investigation has been launched to understand how the woman and her son bypassed the flight attendants and boarded the flight without proper documentation.
The authorities are taking this matter seriously and are working to ensure that such incidents do not occur in the future.

So how come they got a seat on the flight with out the hostess not noticing as far as I know they check your boarding pass upon entering and direct you to your seat ,the plane was empty just asking,cause this sound like a joke
The Flight Attendants do not check your seat assignment unless it’s on a wide body plane, to direct which aile to go down. The gate agents are the ones that scan your boarding pass and check your travel documents… also the last time I checked, local security in Antigua check your boarding pass before you enter the aircraft door. This doesn’t make sense to me how this incident occurred. But it definitely has nothing to do with the Flight Attendants. Antigua has several layers of security when leaving the island so they would have to bypass security first.
This has nothing to do with Security. U can’t read, it was pellucid that the Passengers had already cleared Security & were waiting in the sterile area to Board an Aircraft to Tortola. This is negligence at Boarding Gate & On behalf of the F/A

We want to hear from American Airlines. Amtigua news do your investigations. How can this happen? So anybody can just board any flight after they go through security then?

When you show your details then your directed to your seat, someone knows you cannot board a plane just like that.

They don’t need to, they already got the list of passengers with their seat number entering the country. Usually Air traffic control, customs and immigration all gets a list of names

How the hell they get pass airport security, especially Immigration without a boarding pass?
They can if they were intransitting and did not land in the country hence no need for immigration.This is not the fault of the airport security as well since she did have a boarding pass for her intended destination but then she decided to “change direction”.
Why are deportees constantly using this route to their final destinations? Isn’t any other route to take them to Tortola? Why Antigua? I believe that is how a lot of deportees from other countries ended up in Antigua. Please, give Antigua a break we tired and fed up!!
Immigration officials only have strong for native born Antiguans and Barbudans returning home from their vacation strip, and also native born returning home for vacation or family get together. My American passport says that I was born in Antigua not America, so this gives me the rights to return home on a one way plane ticket and I can stay as long as I wanted. I was born, raised and educated in Antigua but later migrated to America for higher education. While in America studying, I got married to an American and became naturalized. I finished my studies and seeks employment in America. I work in America but Antigua is my home and birthplace. I have a home in Antigua where I pay my annual property taxes, and my monthly utilities bills through wire transfer. So you Immigration officers don’t be telling me that I can’t enter in my country of birth on a one way plane ticket.
You need to be putting your attention on all these deportees using Antigua route for their final destinations.

What does the Boarding pass have to do with immigration???
Because immigration checks your boarding pass when your leaving as well to see what flight u are leaving on to enter it into their system
So she had already passed through security with a boarding pass waiting to be deported. So when they called boarding time for AA she just went through? I can see it happening if it was busy…

I boarded many flights without they checking my boarding pass. So it can happen. But she directly crazy 🤪
