The recently renovated and expanded Royalton Chic hotel at Dickenson Bay, nearing completion.

Tourism Minister Charles Fernandez has recently expressed his positive outlook on the tourism industry of the nation, stating that there will be a significant increase in room stock due to the development of several tourism projects that are currently in progress.

The Minister has highlighted the ongoing and upcoming developments, stating that they are a testament to the promising future of the country’s hospitality sector.

Minister Fernandez emphasized that there are many hotels that are already operating, with several more in the pipeline.

He has mentioned some of the upcoming projects, including the Royal Chic, which is set to open next month, and the highly renowned “One and Only” brand that will replace the former Half Moon property.

The Minister has also mentioned other exciting developments such as the forthcoming Moon Gate, which will have around 80 villas, the reopening of Hawksbill after renovations, and the initiation of construction for the Nubu Hotel in Barbuda within the next two months.

He has also pointed out the developments such as PLH in Barbuda, Rosewood in Barbuda, and the anticipated opening of Marriott in Antigua in approximately 18 months.

Minister Fernandez has emphasized the collaborative efforts to enhance the tourism landscape in the region.

These efforts signify not only a surge in room-stock but also reflect a continuous commitment to attracting visitors and enhancing the overall tourism experience.

With the development of these projects, the country’s tourism industry is expected to experience significant growth, which will, in turn, contribute to the economic growth of the nation.
