Former PM Spencer calls PM Browne “childish” over complimentary remarks

Former Prime Minister Dr. Baldwin Spencer has issued a statement categorically denying the sentiments and statements attributed to him by Prime Minister Gaston Browne.

Over the weekend, Browne claimed that during a visit with Spencer, the former Prime Minister made critical remarks about his style of governance while complimenting Browne’s handling of his Cabinet.

In response to these claims, Dr. Spencer has vehemently denied ever making such statements and has accused the Prime Minister of misrepresenting his character.

He has described Browne’s account as “totally fabricated” and suggested that it reflects a “childish need for approval and validation” that the Prime Minister is not receiving from his own party.

Furthermore, Dr. Spencer has criticized Browne’s self-satisfaction with his “handling” of his Cabinet, stating that it indicates a “tendency toward dictatorship” rather than a cooperative relationship with his colleagues.

He has also accused the Prime Minister of attempting to discredit members of the United Progressive Party (UPP) by spinning such stories instead of focusing on tangible achievements.

This is not the first time that Gaston Browne has been accused of self-congratulatory lies.

Just a week ago, he was critcized for targeting MP Jamale Pringle, Political Leader of the United Progressive Party with similar claims.
