Beware of Fake Scholarship Advertisement

24 April 2024 - 17:24

The Ministry of Education, Sports, and Creative Industries has issued a warning to the public about a fraudulent advertisement on social media.

The advertisement, which features the Coat of Arms of Antigua and Barbuda, a medical logo, and an unrecognizable symbol, claims to offer free online university courses in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and universities.

The ad targets individuals aged 18 to 60 and guarantees a certificate within four weeks and a free laptop. It also states that students with excellent grades will receive scholarships and a degree upon program completion.

The Ministry has clarified that this advertisement is false, and they have no affiliation with any such program. Residents are urged to refrain from sharing any personal information related to the ad.

The Ministry has further advised that any scholarship announcement will be made through mainstream media outlets and the Ministry’s official social media platforms.
