A brazen daylight machete attack on Monday afternoon has left the village of Fort Road traumatized.

Twenty-four-year-old Anthony Joseph was walking with his girlfriend on Penny Lane to a nearby supermarket when he became the victim of a wounding incident involving two other villagers.

According to reports, the two assailants jumped out of the rental Vitz, and it was then that one of the men used a cutlass to inflict wounds on Joseph’s head and left arm.

A video that is now making the rounds of social media shows a portion of the attack where Joseph can be seen trying to escape from the machete-wielding masked man.

At one point, his girlfriend intervened, using her body to shield Joseph.

Bystanders eventually got involved and the two men then made their escape.

Joseph was transported to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre where he is being treated for his injuries.

The two men were identified and later arrested.

They are now facing wounding charges.
