This morning, two Jennings residents found themselves in court facing a slew of charges related to the controlled substance Hashish.

On May 12, around 3 pm, members of the Narcotics Squad executed a search on a property occupied by 49-year-old Denfield Roberts and 23-year-old Deshawn Lattibeaudiere, both hailing from Jennings.

During the search, law enforcement seized a substantial amount of Hashish, totaling 52.9 pounds.

Hashish, a substance derived from the cannabis plant through compression and processing of certain plant parts, carries significant legal implications.

The seized substance holds an estimated value of $590,200.

Roberts and Lattibeaudiere were charged with several offenses, including possession and possession with intent to transfer of 52.9 pounds of Hashish, as well as being concerned with supplying, importation, and drug trafficking.

However, during their appearance before Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel, their lawyers were absent to present bail applications.

Consequently, the defendants were remanded in custody until the following day.
