Two Jennings residents, Denfield Roberts, aged 49, and Deshawn Lattibeaudiere, aged 23, facing a series of charges related to Hashish, were denied bail.

On May 12, at approximately 3 pm, members of the Narcotics Squad conducted a search on a property where the duo resided. The search led to the discovery of a significant quantity of Hashish, amounting to 52.9 pounds.

The seized substance was estimated to be worth $590,200. Roberts and Lattibeaudiere were charged with multiple offenses, including possession, possession with intent to distribute, concern with supply, importation, and drug trafficking of the Hashish.

They appeared before Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel, represented by their lawyer Lawrence Daniels, who sought bail on their behalf.

However, the Magistrate decided to remand them in custody, citing concerns that Roberts owned a fishing boat on which both individuals worked.

Their committal hearing is scheduled for July 24.
