Post Office workers strike today.
A group of employees working at the General Post Office has decided to halt their services until they have the opportunity to meet with both the Finance Minister and Prime Minister Gaston Browne.
The employees, who are represented by shop stewards from the Public Service Association (PSA) and the Antigua & Barbuda Trades & Labour Union (AT&LU), claim that they were assured that they would be relocated to the Sir Cuthwyn Lake Medical Centre by the end of May.
However, when they visited the Nugent Avenue location last Friday, they were informed that the new facility was not yet ready to accommodate them.
The employees have expressed frustration with their working conditions, citing issues such as mold growth, leaking roofs, and unpleasant odors.
They have emphasized that they are not on strike but have instead chosen to withhold their services until they are granted a meeting with the nation’s leaders.
