16-year-old Yenifer Berenice Aquino Bridge

The teenager who was discovered dead at Fig Tree Drive this morning has been identified as 16-year-old Yenifer Berenice Aquino Bridge

Yenifer Bridge, a former student at Jennings Secondary School from Gray’s Farm, leaves behind a two-year-old son.

According to her cousin, Bridge and her brother left home at a young age due to conflicts with their mother.

Yenifer became pregnant at a young age and was reportedly in a relationship with a controlling man.

“We all grew up together in our yard in Grays Farm. She was my children’s cousin. They played together. It’s really heartbreaking,” said the cousin, who wishes to be called Carl.

The man, who is more than 10 years older than Yenifer, is the father of her son.

This same child was found wandering the streets in the early hours of the morning.

  2. It seems like the child father is a prime suspect.
Whether he is the one committed this crime or not he should be in police custody since he has also committed another crime against the child mother while she was a child minor. If law enforcement did their job prior the young mother probably would still be alive

  3. Law enforcement in Antigua and Barbuda really sucks! How is that the man who impregnated this child at age fourteen was never arrested? Were education officials unaware of the implications of a fourteen year-old pregnant teenager who obviously needed social protection?. And those useless staff members from the Ministry of Social transformation, church goers, community leaders and politicians – incumbent AND aspiring, were they all blind to the plight of this sixteen year old who became a mother at age fourteen??? Shame on us all!
