British resident drowns while swimming at beach in Nevis

A 66-year-old man, Lanvy Clarke, a St. Kitts and Nevis national but resident in the United Kingdom, drowned while swimming at Oualie Beach in Nevis.

The incident occurred at approximately 1pm on July 26 when he encountered difficulties in the water.

 Despite the efforts of other swimmers who assisted him out of the water, they were unfortunately unable to save his life, according to the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force. The police force is advising all beachgoers to exercise caution.
