LIAT 2020 is set to introduce direct flights to Dominica from Antigua and Barbuda.
The airline has disclosed the flight fare, starting at just US$99 plus tax, as it resumes its regional air connectivity on previous routes.
The inaugural flight into the Douglas Charles Airport in Dominica is scheduled for tomorrow Thursday.
This new route will not only provide convenient travel options for passengers but also strengthen the ties between LIAT 2020 and the Dominican tourism sector.
This development comes after the closure of LIAT in 1974, with LIAT 2020 being revived with the assistance of the Nigerian firm, AirPeace, and the government of Antigua and Barbuda.
Following the necessary procedures and protocols, the airline has obtained the required Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) and is set to commence commercial operations in the first week of August 2024.
LIAT 2020 has also revealed the flight itinerary connecting Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, and Saint Lucia, with returning services from Antigua to Saint Lucia and then from Saint Lucia to Barbados.
The airline’s two aircraft, 301 and 302, will operate direct flight services along the route, with varying departure and arrival times, providing passengers with flexible travel options.
LIAT 20 is the brainchild of Antigua and Barbuda’s Prime Minister Gaston Browne.
Stop fooling the people this is not the Lait that the region once knew.. this is nothing more than a government wet leasing (renting a plane with crew and maintenance) to fly routes… there isn’t A SINGLE liat pilot flying these planes and until the registration changes to V2 there will be NOT A SINGLE LIAT PILOT operating them… so what’s basically happening y’all are putting your trust in the hands of individuals you know nothing about… unlike the previous liat the traveling public saw faces they knew, children of the soil so to speak.. discontinue to believe Gaston brown’s lies and rally that they pay the children of the soil their long over due severance..
GI JOE, why do you choose to use the cesspool as your podium? Have you no national pride? Some of us are old enough to have developed an unshakable bond with an airline that gave some pride of place to the citizens of the Leeward Islands – LIAT, Air Jamaica, (Jamaica), BWIA, (Trinidad), WINAIR, (Winward Islands) to name a few are/were some of our local and regional airlines that served us well. For reasons known to all, the original LIAT seemed destined for the dustbins of history. Antigua and its true brave patriots resolved, however not to let this happen and while the no-balls cowards ran and hid, WE decided, despite the huge odds, to press on. Of course, this venture represents the birth of a newborn baby, not an adult. We expect that creeping will precede walking and WE are prepared to provide whatever is necessary to facilitate healthy growth. So just get off your cesspool podium and be part of the solution for a change!
Well Said
This is great news for small island states. It is a few version of LIAT I pray it is better
Actually I love it and it is affordable and also convenient.
I hope flights was this cheap to go all caribbean islands….
Liat Say it’s 99USD!!
People go and lobby your governments for reduced taxes on airline tickets.
That 99usd will turned to 230usd at a minimum just to say it’s more than 100% government tax
Liat need to stop that silly ad no flight is no 99 usd and you all know that damn well because they put charges and not including it in the add
The ad clearly states USD $99 plus tax. Sunrise tickets are USD $200 including tax so why can’t Liat 2020 be this affordable?
Stop turning good news into a bad one because Liat 2020 will be booked out before the end of September for Dominica’s annual Music Festival in October.
I know I don’t have to spell out REVENUE for you so have a good day and stay positive about your country.
Liat stop with your rubbish this is not true ppl a scam
Faithful Nation, you sound like a true clown drinking up all the red kook-aid.. why if ALLLLLL the possible airlines that wanted to expand and serve the Caribbean region we had to partner with a known fraudster, not from England, America, or china but from AFRICA!!! Mark my words this is going NOWHERE quickly… planes are registered to Africa, planes are white planes with stickers.. when it implodes, stickers will be pealed and planes will fly back to their base… talking bout cesspool podium? Your mind is a cesspool for believing this nonsense… good day to you and the gullible.
