Sweden has appointed Victoria George as its new honorary consul to Antigua and Barbuda.

George, originally from Sweden, has been residing in Antigua and Barbuda for the past fifteen years.

She takes over from Sylvia O”Marde, who held the position for thirteen years.

Swedish Ambassador to the Caribbean, Anders Bengtcen, formally presented the letter of appointment to George.

At a reception on Monday night, Ambassador Clarence Pilgrim offered congratulations to Honorary Consul George on her appointment.

George sees her role as the primary contact for Swedish nationals in Antigua and Barbuda needing consular services such as passport replacement or other forms of assistance.
