LIAT 20, the successor to the former regional carrier, continues its expansion by offering services to new destinations, the latest being St Vincent and the Grenadines.

On Friday, LIAT 20 touched down at the Argyle International Airport, receiving a grand water cannon welcome, officially signaling the start of scheduled commercial flights to the island

The airline has been steadily increasing its footprint across the region, and its Chief Executive Officer, Hafsah Abdulsalam, says the airline remains committed to providing reliable and convenient travel options for passengers.

At a welcome reception at the airport VIP terminal, Abdulsalam said the expansion reflects LIAT’s ongoing commitment to connecting more communities and providing essential air travel options for customers.

Adding St Vincent and other new destinations to LIAT 20’s network demonstrates the airline’s dedication to enhancing connectivity and accessibility across the region.

Passengers can now enjoy the convenience of flying with LIAT 20 to several vibrant and culturally rich destinations.

According to her, LIAT 20 remains focused on delivering high-quality service, and expanding its network further solidifies its position as a leading regional carrier.

“We’re not just seeking flights into St Vincent. When I talk about establishing a hub, we are seeking to establish a hub here to foster the movement of cargo, businesses, and students, and families alike as well.”

Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves of St Vincent and the Grenadines commended his Antiguan counterpart, Prime Minister Gaston Browne, for his unwavering faith in the project and expressed willingness to join in supporting efforts to keep the new airline in the skies.

He said PM Browne was faced with many doubters, but he never gave up hope

Meanwhile, LIAT’s Chief Operating Officer said Kedus Melkamu said the main focus of the new airline is to provide excellent service while connecting people

Offering fares from just $99 USD (excluding taxes), the airline is revolutionizing island travel in the Caribbean.

With plans to expand to 11 destinations and introduce flights to Panama, Miami, Puerto Rico, and the British Virgin Islands,

The future holds great promise for LIAT20, with the potential for larger aircraft and exciting new opportunities on the horizon.

Commendations to Liat. We need need to have better variety when flying. The tickers are way too expensive on Caribbean airlines and others. Flying is about profits but more about customer satisfaction

Beautifully written. Let us continue to hope that LIAT 20 stays in the skies. We in the aviation sector knows all too well how expensive it is to fly while traveller’s are looking to save a buck or two. LIAT we need you to stay.

I applaud you for this magical step. We need better options at this time to compete and to offer better services and fares. Just dont become greedy, think long term, think people’s needs, think budgets and pay your pilots and staff enough to keep them delivering safety and quality.

This could only bolster Tourism in our Caribbean Islands. I pray good stewardship and much blessings for this much needed option.
