Antiguan all-rounder Karima Gore played a crucial role in Victoria’s victory over a star studded Guyana Amazon Warriors in their first match of the Global Super League, showcasing his batting prowess with an unbeaten 36 off 24 balls.

The Leeward Islands Hurricanes and Liberta Blackhawks player demonstrated his value as a finisher, striking three fours and a six in his match-defining innings as Victoria posted 163/6 from their 20 overs.

Skipper Scott Edwards provided solid support with 31 from 25 balls, while Sanjay Krishnamurthi (24) and Joe Clarke (17) made useful contributions. The Warriors’ bowling attack was led by Imran Tahir, who picked up two wickets, while Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Gudakesh Motie, and Hassan Khan each claimed one wicket.

In reply, the Warriors’ chase was spearheaded by Moeen Ali’s aggressive 51 off 33 balls, including 3 fours and 4 sixes. Shai Hope added 40 runs, and Hassan Khan remained unbeaten on 25, but Victoria’s bowlers held their nerve to restrict the Warriors to 162/6.

Jackson Smith led Victoria’s bowling effort with 2 wickets, while Dominic Drakes, Max Birthisel, Callum Stow, and Corey Anderson each picked up one wicket to secure their team’s narrow victory.

The result highlighted Gore’s growing reputation as a valuable all-round player, continuing his strong performances for both Victoria and his home teams in Antigua and the Leeward Islands.
