$5,000 Prize for National Theatre Logo Competition
Prime minister doubles the previously advertised award, saying creative work deserves greater recognition.
Prime Minister Gaston Browne has announced that the prize for the National Performing Arts Theatre logo competition should increase from EC$2,500 to EC$5,000.
Browne made the announcement during the Browne and Browne Show as the competition details were being read.
“Intellectual capital doesn’t come cheap,” he said.
The competition, themed “Bring Our Culture. Shape Our Identity,” invites Antiguan and Barbudan nationals at home and abroad to submit a design.
According to the criteria read during the programme, entries are open to all ages and AI-generated content is prohibited.
Participants may submit one logo and must provide colour and monochrome versions in PNG and PDF formats, together with the editable source file.
Entries must also include a short explanation of the concept and its connection to the theme.
The judging criteria include creativity, relevance, clarity and overall impact.
The winning logo would become the property of the Government of Antigua and Barbuda.
The submission deadline read during the broadcast remained October 15, 2026.
Although the panel discussed whether additional time should be allowed, no confirmed extension was announced.
Browne’s intervention increased the award he said should be offered; updated competition notices would need to reflect the announcement.
