Prime Minister Gaston Browne has congratulated Senator Lamin Newton, the newest addition to the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) Senate, describing his recent appointment as thoroughly deserved.
Senator Newton took his official oath of office during a ceremony held on Friday.
“Comrade Lamin Newton has been a dedicated member of our party since before the 2018 general elections. He approached us with humility and made no demands, instead stepping forward to advocate passionately on behalf of our party,” PM Browne remarked.
The Prime Minister highlighted Senator Newton’s commitment to personal growth, noting his impressive journey of self-improvement over the years.
“He took the initiative to enroll at the University of the West Indies Five Islands Campus (UWIFIC), where he has worked diligently to enhance his academic credentials. His pursuit of a degree is not only commendable but also truly remarkable,” PM Browne stated.
In his remarks, PM Browne emphasized that Senator Newton’s dedication to education is a testament to the ABLP’s commitment to fostering self-development among its members.
He encouraged others to follow Newton’s example, illustrating the party’s supportive environment that empowers individuals to invest in their personal and professional growth.
ABLP is the party of opportunity for growth. Young people stepping into leadership makes me happy. UPP should take note and begin thinking about succession planning and including the younger generation at the table.
I am wondering who is in power right. BIG CHUPZ.
