VIDEO: PM Browne Claims Edghill Received Financial Incentive to Run in St. Peter

22 December 2024 - 07:24

Prime Minister Gaston Browne says the United Progressive Party (UPP) is struggling to find a candidate for the St. Peter constituency.

He said he understands that UPP member Anderson Edgehill was offered financial incentives to consider running. Our newsroom could not confirm this accusation.

Residents are expected to participate in a by-election on January 14th following the death of MP Asot Michael.

Rawdon Turner has been selected as the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) candidate in St. Peter, but the UPP has yet to reveal its candidate.

However, UPP Leader Jamal Pringle said that the candidate will be revealed soon.

Many expected Tevaugn Hariette to be the candidate since he contested the last election in that constituency.

Listen to what Browne said on Saturday.
