Commissioner of Police Atlee Rodney has reported that six of the ten murders that occurred in 2024 remain unsolved. The ongoing investigation has prompted assistance from Scotland Yard, which is collaborating with local authorities to bring clarity to these troubling cases.
Last year, several murders left the community in a state of shock and mourning, particularly with the tragic loss of two young girls. Yenifer Bridge, just 16 years old, was found lifeless near Fig Tree Drive in late July. Her untimely death not only devastated her family but also sent ripples of fear and sadness throughout the entire community, highlighting the urgent need for justice.
In a heartbreaking follow-up, the body of 15-year-old Achazia James was recovered in early August at Runaway Beach. Achazia, like Yenifer, was a bright and vibrant young life who had much ahead of her.
The stark reality of such tragedies has deeply affected the local population, sparking conversations on safety and community support.
In another unfortunate incident, Kelsi Cain, a 27-year-old resident of Cassada Gardens, was discovered dead near Blackman’s Estate.
Kelsi was last seen alive on Thursday, August 15, around 4:45 p.m., and his sudden disappearance raised alarm among friends and family.
The situation worsened when, in the early hours of Friday, August 16, at approximately 1:15 a.m., authorities received a report regarding a body lying motionless in what appeared to be a pool of blood along the back road by the stadium.
When police arrived at the scene, Kelsi was found dressed in short jeans and multicolored boxers, his shirt missing.
Despite the immediate response, he was pronounced dead at 2:39 a.m., marking yet another tragic loss for the community.
The investigations into these cases remain ongoing as authorities strive to uncover the truth behind these sorrowful events.
Several other murders have been left unsolved.
You mentioned that the young lady body was washed a shore. Sounds like she was in the water prior to her body being discovered. Is that the case?
