St. George, Antigua and Barbuda – February 15, 2025 – ABLP Political Hopeful for St. George, Michael Freeland, celebrated Valentine’s Day by visiting Potters and Pigotts Primary Schools, where he presented gift baskets to the principals as a token of love and appreciation for their unwavering dedication to education and youth development.
“Our teachers and school leaders are the backbone of our communities, shaping the minds and futures of our children,” said Mr. Freeland. “This Valentine’s Day, I wanted to show my gratitude for their tireless efforts and commitment to excellence in education. Their work is not just about teaching; it’s about inspiring and nurturing our youth to become confident, capable, and compassionate individuals.”
The visits, which coincided with Pigotts Primary School’s Sports Day, allowed Mr. Freeland to witness firsthand the vibrant energy and competitive spirit of the students. He commended the youth for their enthusiasm and sportsmanship, emphasizing the importance of fostering such qualities in the next generation of leaders. “The competitive spirit I witnessed today at Pigotts Primary School’s Sports Day is a testament to the limitless potential of our youth,” he remarked.
During his visits, Mr. Freeland also took the opportunity to engage with students and staff, including Pigotts Primary Special K teacher “Pow”, expressing his passion for youth development and his vision for a brighter future in St. George and across Antigua and Barbuda. He highlighted the need for continued support for educators, the constant improvement of educational resources, and the introduction of innovative programs which foster the holistic development of young people.
Speaking to the collective role all members of the community, he stated, “It is our responsibility to provide our students and educators with the encouragement and support they need to succeed. Education and youth development are not just priorities for me—they are the foundation of thriving communities.”
