Angela Mejia Remanded to Prison; Placed in Isolation

20-Year-Old Angela Mejia

Angela Mejia, a 20-year-old, has been sent to His Majesty’s Prison and placed in isolation.

She allegedly killed 9-year-old Chantel Crump.

Mejia appeared before Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel without legal representation during an early morning court session.

Security measures around the courthouse were significantly increased, with police establishing blockades and restricting access to the High Street building.

According to reports, Mejia allegedly took the child from Grays Farm on the afternoon of March 12.

The Five Islands School student was dressed in her uniform as she was on her way home from school.

Mejia is said to have brought her to Glanvilles, where she was killed.

It is alleged that the defendant admitted to the crime and took the police to where the body of the child was left in Weatherills.

The accused will remain incarcerated while awaiting her next court appearance on June 4 for committal proceedings.

She has indicated that she wishes to obtain legal counsel.

      So she wants legal representation…ok no problem. All I saying to who ever might be representing her even if no one does is to be careful u don’t scar ur name for representing such ferocious creature. Whether or not it’s an individual rights to seek legal representation I think she should be denied given the nature of the act. Seriously ….. what story u going cook up to ur lawyer should u be granted one and I know for sure in hell u can’t scream INSANITY or somebody held a gun to ur head…….PLEASE…

      Something I can not understand. Is here someone involved, the people of Antigua and Barbuda know them, couse they are wellknown? In Germany they never would show a picture like this of the woman. And also the name can not be named. In Antigua they do it. But no news of the partner/s. WHY?
      Did the named the murder of Asot.so fast? No. Something is wrong here.

    Isolation???????? Wah isolation you a tell me bout. KILL DAHDEY. They couldn’t even allow the family in court today and they telling me about isolation. she was suppose to walk t court with two buckets of water and back to base with the two buckets of water in the scorching sun. She supoose to sleep on the ground in the yard with no sheet. COME ON!!

    ofc she would want a lawyer. she’s working in a group and they already have a lawyer. im sure another sacrifice will be made to win her over this case. Angela is not working alone and she has her people behind her. This is all planned. Authorities need to do better investigation and stop protecting her. This will just happen to another person child. maybe just they may not find the person who did it this time. let’s be frl. all these vehicles driving around without license plate check them and leave me without my seatbelt.

    This is so sad and unbelievable. Antigua is getting worse and worse everyday and I don’t think the prime minister is being serious about these kind of madness.     No lawyer should represent her. As a matter of fact she should be given a taste of her own medicine. Torture her, pluck out her eyes, dig out her ears, pull out her tongue then start pulling out her nails one by one until she give out pertinent information. After hang her by her back side until a drop of blood will not run through her veins. This 9yrs old angel deserves justice.
