A black Honda Fit was stolen at gunpoint from a young woman in St. Johns.

The vehicle, which belongs to a resident of Five Islands, was taken as the woman was in the vicinity of G-Spot on Independence Avenue

According to reports, the incident unfolded when a man approached her with a firearm, demanding that she exit her car.

“It was around 1 a.m when my young daughter went to drop two people off to get something to eat. She remained in the vehicle. Then someone armed with a gun came to the vehicle and asked her to get out of the vehicle” her mother reported to Antigua.news.

“After she resisted, he signaled another guy from a black jeep came and told her get out of the f-ing vehicle…” she further explained.

Fortunately, the young woman was not physically harmed but was left shaken by the encounter. She promptly reported the incident to the police.

The suspect was reportedly accompanied by two other men in a black jeep, but she could not identify the vehicle’s number plate.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to come forward.

Is this in preparation for something bigger that will take place later? Or it’s just for the chop shop and parts… I strongly doubt it’s the latter…. My countrymen and women, please be careful out there…. Don’t hesitate to report what you have seen or heard… these robbers brag and boast about their activities…. Someone knows!!

Not safe in your own vehicle. That’s why day or night. when i’m driving i lock my car. There are cars that don’t automatically locked when you drrive off and thats why you have to ensure your vehicle is lock. if you’re letting someone out as they exit you lock. a case like this you’ll be able to drive off

This ain’t no petty theft. Armed robbery in the middle of town? Where are the cameras? The patrols? The leadership?

So sorry this happened to your daughter. We need to stand together as a community and make sure these criminals are caught. Thank God she’s alive and not hurt. Material things can be replaced our young women can’t. Stay strong, sis.

Enough is enough. Install more CCTV and get some undercover patrols on the road. Crime escalating fast.
