An immigration officer has been ordered to pay a fine after pleading guilty to multiple cannabis-related charges, while charges against his sister were dismissed.
Tishidi McCoy entered a guilty plea to charges of possession of cannabis, possession of cannabis plants, and cultivation of cannabis. The court imposed a fine of $3,377, which must be paid within 30 days. If Mc Coy fails to pay the fine by the deadline, he will face 90 days imprisonment.
He was initially charged alongside his sister Danielle Emanuel, an attorney who resides at the same address as McCoy. However, Emanuel maintained her innocence by pleading not guilty.
The prosecution subsequently offered no further evidence against her, resulting in the dismissal of her charges.
3,377dollars, very precise no more rounding off to the nearest zero.
Hmmm. Just reading and the headline over and over.
They need to either legalize weed or stop wasting court time over small amounts. Let people grow a plant in peace.
WeedHouse I agree. This is total nonsense. Whatever happened to growing for one’s own consumption? Isn’t that a thing anymore?
So she walks free because she’s a lawyer and he pays a fine? Hmmm
He pled guilty. She didn’t. They followed the law. Let’s not jump to conclusions.
Thank you! It’s just the Antiguan mentality in some of them. Always a run dem mouth
Lol she defended her self well. Had to drop it
The fact that growing a few plants can still land you in jail says a lot about how behind we are. Time to modernize the law. we need a Cannabis Reform
Is it only now ppl realize that’s there’s a loophole to the decriminalization marijuana law. Lol
Aryu really lib waste time in the Court.. Wha dis?
This was indeed a SET UP! I’m trying to grasp exactly what is wrong? Weed plants?
Hmmm I shall not judge. Moving right along now
