Team Antigua and Barbuda is officially on the medal table at the 52nd CARIFTA Games, thanks to a stellar performance by Ranique Richards, who claimed the bronze medal in the Under-17 Girls Shot Put.

Richards threw a distance of 12.57 meters, earning the nation its first medal of the regional athletics competition.

The Games, currently underway in Trinidad and Tobago, saw Antigua and Barbuda athletes spring into action during this morning’s opening session.

Richards was the first to compete for the national squad, making her CARIFTA debut a memorable one.

Her performance not only secured a podium finish but also set the tone for what promises to be an exciting campaign for Team Antigua and Barbuda.
