Adrianna Younge

Tragic news emerged regarding 11-year-old Adrianna Younge, who drowned, as confirmed by a forensic autopsy conducted at the Georgetown Public Hospital.

This autopsy was performed under tense conditions, with a team of three pathologists, including renowned experts from the U.S. and Barbados, examining her body for any signs of foul play.

Adrianna was found dead in a hotel pool in East Bank Essequibo, sparking nationwide protests.

During a press conference later in the evening, family attorney Darren Wade reported that the autopsy confirmed her cause of death as drowning, with no signs of violence or sexual assault.

However, it was noted that determining the exact circumstances of her drowning and the time of death was complicated due to advanced decomposition.

While Wade addressed concerns about discolored skin and the presence of potential cotton in her nostrils, pathologists clarified there was no evidence of cotton found.

The situation outside the hospital escalated into chaos, forcing police to use tear gas on protesting crowds.

Adrianna had been reported missing days prior to her body being discovered. A final report from the pathologists is expected soon.
