“Vampire Killer” Case Set for July

Delano Forbes

After seven years of waiting, the notorious case against Delano Forbes will move forward on July 18.

Forbes, whose alleged crimes shocked Antigua between 2017-2018, has maintained that he is innocent against four separate murder charges.

The defendant, who entered not guilty pleas to all counts, stands accused in the deaths of Wilfred “Bongo” Williams, Shawn Henry, Lisue Williams, and Maurison Thomas—homicides spanning multiple communities including Swetes, Point, and All Saints.

What particularly captured public attention were the disturbing claims surrounding evidence collection, as authorities reportedly discovered bottled of suspected human blood near the accused’s home, fuelling the “vampire” allegations that have followed the case.

The prosecution’s ability to proceed faced a significant challenge in 2022 when Forbes’ mental competency came under scrutiny. However, psychiatric evaluation by Dr. Griffin Benjamin determined that despite showing traits of anti-social personality disorder, the defendant fully comprehends court proceedings and can participate in his defence.
